Scan Safe MRI is a MRI safety consultant company based out of Atlanta, Georgia. We specialize in providing guidance towards safely scanning patients with implants, on-plants and other devices that will potentially be within the MRI environment.
We are dedicated to not only providing safe guidance of scanning patients, but also timely and accurate responses to our partners where prompt communications are demanded for proper patient care and maintaining scheduled exams. This allows for continued patient care and proper patient/exam planning management.
Being focused on patient-safety, while also understanding our clients needs, we at Scan Safe MRI look to provide the most comprehensive counsel in a way that increases your efficiency with every scan.
About the Founder
Stephen Mercedes
With almost two decades of experience in healthcare, including over a decade in Radiology, I’ve been able to see what it takes to create a positive and safe experience from multiple perspectives: as a patient, as a radiologic tech, and as a business owner.
As an MRI technologist, I understand the patient-facing aspect where information is needed in a timely manner, in order to maintain patient schedules as well as avoid any delay of care. I’ve worked for many different organizations in many different environments, including level I trauma centers, oncological practices and outpatient imaging centers. I know that there is a thin line between maintaining patient safety and being efficient.
As a business owner, I also understand the need to keep the flow of patients consistent and significantly reduce the liability of leaders and Radiologists involved. I realize that the overwhelming demands of having a business and/or reading exams, all while heavily relying on your employees to properly and safely carry out their duties, can become burdensome.
Scan Safe MRI is here to serve as the bridge for all three touchpoints: keep the patients safe, give the technologists guidance, and provide peace of mind to the Radiologists/business owners. The timely guidance I provide to the MR staff (scheduling, front desk, MRI techs, Radiologists, and more) looks to keep schedules filled while highlighted safety parameters via recommendations of what can or cannot be safely scanned.
As the Radiologist, you are ultimately responsible for who or what MRI technologists put into your scanners. As a certified MRSO with years of experience in research, training and education, I am here to serve as your go-to consultant for any questions or concerns regarding implant safety, accreditation and facility compliance recommendations, and much more!
